Much of the material
taught by our PPD coaches in one-to-one sessions can also be taught in leadership
training programmes for a business organization. In some cases, the most
effective means of developing up and coming leaders is to combine 1:1 coaching
with leadership training. All of our coaches have had considerable experience
as trainers and facilitators. Drawing on our extensive experience of programme
design, all of PPD Consulting training initiatives are tailor-made to meet
your objectives. We assess the skill level and current circumstances of
the trainees and then we establish how to get the trainees from where they
are now to the fulfilment of their objectives.

Stakeholder
management and
face-to-face influence skills
Enhance the way you as a leader think about the objectives of key stakeholders,
understand their communication style and deliver them what they want in
the way that they want it. PPD coaches can teach you how to provide expert
guidance to stakeholders in a way that manages their expectation of the
service your department provides.
More advanced levels include developing skills such as learning to communicate
in the thinking style of the person you are communicating with.

Creating
development plans and coaching your direct reports
Since the amount of time you as a leader can spend sorting out key agendas
for your boss will depend on the extent to which your direct reports manage
the day-to-day details, a key leadership skill is the training of direct
reports. An effective leader has a one-year plan for each direct report
with defined milestones that let you know if you are achieving results
or not. PPD coaches are expert at showing you how to train direct reports.

Management
of personal high performance
This is about learning how to deal with stress, maintaining positive emotional
states, and developing an unshakeable proactive attitude in the face of
the challenges you face as a leader. A recent Harvard Business Review
article correlates the emotional state of the leader and the organisation's
emotional climate with the profitability of the organisation. PPD Consulting
coaches and trainers are expert in methods that will help you enhance
your high performance.

Priority
management
The management of priorities is a key to successful leadership. Since
you haven't got enough time in the day to do everything and you have a
personal life as well, you need to proactively manage your priorities.
PPD Consulting can help you figure out what is the 20% that provides 80%
of the value in what you do? How do you get rid of the other 80%? (See
Alpha Leadership,
Chapter 7, "80:20 Leadership.")

Taking a win-win approach
to negotiation
In your day-to-day life, do you tend to experience win-win relationships,
or are they win-lose, lose-win or lose-lose? When two parties disagree
and start getting into a conflict situation, the barriers to open dialogue
go up and communication dynamics weaken. An organisation's effectiveness
is too often squandered by poor communication skills and by the lack of
cooperation that accompany them.
High performance can only take place when people seek win-win solutions.
In most cases such a solution is possible, but isn't found due to the
lack of empathy, self-awareness and effective negotiation skills. PPD
coaches can help you learn how to take a win-win approach in all your
negotiations where quality is as important as cost.
